Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom, speaking at Dutch Fork High School in mid December, says government, at all levels, needs to do a better job of identifying core services and prioritizing what it’s going to spend its limited resources on.
The days of government spending until it ran out of money, then raising taxes to get more money, is over, Eckstrom believes. But that doesn’t mean government has gotten much better at allocating its scares resources, he said.
