Davis: Local Leaders Can Handle Own Affairs

State Sen. Tom Davis says leaders at the state level shouldn’t try to influence decisions made by local government bodies such as county councils and city councils.

“I believe in home rule,” Davis tells a Midlands-area high school class. “I believe that the government closest to the people governs best.” It’s the local leaders who are most accountable to voters, he adds.
