Where Government Gets Exposed

9/12 Project Member Discusses Concentrated Power

At the Sep. 30 meeting of the Lexington 9/12 Project, Citizen Reporter Wes Howard asked member James Stout what he thought about the extensive power the legislative branch has over the other two branches of government in South Carolina. Stout responded by saying he doesn’t like there to be too much power in government at all, “but the fact that it’s all concentrated in the legislature, I think, is a very dangerous situation, and I think it’s what’s caused our problems in South Carolina.”

We need your help to continue our mission of holding government officials accountable!
